Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said Thursday his party will continue its constitutional struggle for restoration of statehood and rights taken from the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Abdullah said political stability in IIOJK will remain elusive until commitments to the people are honoured.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose conditions should be reviewed and honour restored,\u201d he said, blaming New Delhi\u2019s negligence for prevailing instability.<\/p>\n

He criticised the division of powers, stating the elected government should have authority, not the Lieutenant Governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LG has most of the powers when he should not have those powers. He is a nominee from Delhi,\u201d Abdullah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the need of the hour \u2014 to unite for the restoration of statehood. We are all united as far as statehood is concerned,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
