{"id":202809,"date":"2026-06-12T09:57:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/?p=202809"},"modified":"2026-06-12T09:57:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:57:18","slug":"kathua-man-under-verification-over-misrepresentation-as-ib-employee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/2026\/06\/12\/kathua-man-under-verification-over-misrepresentation-as-ib-employee.html","title":{"rendered":"Kathua man under verification over misrepresentation as IB employee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-202810\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2026\/06\/khutwa-man.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2026\/06\/khutwa-man.jpg 598w, https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2026\/06\/khutwa-man-390x217.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jammu: A 25-year-old man from Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is under investigation after he was found portraying himself as an employee of the Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) and carrying a purported identity card of doubtful authenticity.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kashmir Media Service, an official said that during the course of information collection, it came to the notice of the authorities that Ankush Sharma, resident of Ward No 06, Kathua, who is reportedly a Class 12 pass and assists his father at a tea stall in Sabzi Mandi, Kathua, was allegedly representing himself as an Intelligence Bureau employee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe individual was reportedly found carrying and displaying an alleged IB identity card, the authenticity of which has been questioned by the authorities,\u201d the official said, adding, \u201cUpon receiving information about the matter, senior officers of the Intelligence Bureau took cognizance of the issue and questioned the individual regarding his claims and the identity card in his possession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the preliminary inquiry, Ankush Sharma was taken to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC), Nagri, for further verification and investigation to establish the facts surrounding the case and determine the authenticity of the purported identity card,\u201d the official added.<\/p>\n<p>He said the inquiry is currently underway, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. \u201cNo official conclusion has yet been reached regarding the authenticity of the identity card or any alleged offence,\u201d the official added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jammu: A 25-year-old man from Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is under investigation after he was found portraying himself as an employee of the Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) and carrying a purported identity card of doubtful authenticity.
