Srinagar: Analysts and political observers in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have said that the joint training exercise, “Shakti Sangam,” conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Jammu and India’s National Security Guard (NSG), is part of New Delhi’s continued efforts to suppress the Kashmiris’ legitimate freedom movement.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the week-long exercise focused on counter-insurgency tactics, hostage rescue operations, counter-drone measures, live firing drills and other combat training aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of Indian forces in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n

The analysts said such military exercises are routinely conducted under the pretext of strengthening security but are primarily intended to intensify surveillance, expand militarization and crush dissent in IIOJK. They maintained that New Delhi has consistently relied on force and coercive measures instead of addressing the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

They added that increased military preparedness and deployment of advanced technologies would further contribute to an atmosphere of fear and repression in the occupied territory, where Kashmiris continue to demand their right to self-determination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
