<\/figure>\n\n\n\nNew Delhi: In India, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has said that the country is currently standing at a very critical crossroads.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the members of executive council of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in a meeting held under the chairmanship of President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani in New Delhi said the changes that have taken place in government priorities and social attitudes in the last few years are a cause of concern not only for a specific section but also for the entire democratic system.
They discussed in detail the current situation in India, saying that hateful rhetoric has greatly spoiled the atmosphere of the country. The religious incitement, which was once heard on the margins of society, is today becoming a part of national politics and the statements of those in power, and the fact is that hatred has now taken the form of threatening politics, they added.
They lamented that an attempt was being made to change the democratic and constitutional status of India under a systematic thinking, in the strengthening of which the behaviour of the court also plays a major role.
The participants of the meeting said the honour and dignity of minorities, places of worship, educational institutions, cemeteries and shrines are being targeted. They said demolition measures against them are continuing unabated under the guise of various pretexts.
They said extrajudicial killings and encounters have increased in different parts of the country and the government is encouraging all this, which is extremely shameful.
They said the government and its workers are taking such steps that were not even imagined during the British era. These circumstances have created a feeling among a large section of the country that an \u201cinternal colonial system\u201d is being established in this country where a sense of oppression, deprivation and constant insecurity is becoming dominant, they remarked.
The participants said that in any civilized society, matters related to religious places are dealt with justice, transparency and according to legal requirements, but here the exact opposite is happening. They added that recent developments related to voting and electoral processes had also raised serious questions.
They said various actions carried out in the name of citizen identity and citizenship have created anxiety among millions of citizens and the impression is growing that the aim of these measures is not just to correct the electoral rolls but to limit the political representation of certain classes. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
