Muzaffarnagar: Tension gripped Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Muzaffarnagar after Hindu residents of Dakshini Krishnapuri locality staged a protest against the sale of a house to a Muslim buyer, exposing the Islamophobia driving housing segregation in India.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, residents of the Hindu-majority colony gathered at the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate demanding intervention. The protest was led by ward councillor Raju, who alleged that brothers Arpit Jain and Ankit Jain sold their house under Khalapar police station area to a Muslim purchaser.<\/p>\n

Raju claimed the colony is \u201cpredominantly Hindu\u201d and argued the sale could disturb the \u201csocial balance\u201d and atmosphere of the locality. Protesters said concerns were earlier raised in a Hindu Sangharsh Samiti meeting but were ignored.<\/p>\n

The memorandum further alleged that people with \u201ccriminal tendencies\u201d visited the house, though these claims have not been independently verified. City Magistrate Pankaj Prakash Rathore received the memorandum and assured the matter will be examined and action taken as per legal provisions.<\/p>\n
