Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected India\u2019s condemnation of the reported demolition of the 125-year-old Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib in Farooqabad as unwarranted interference in its internal affairs.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, India falsely alleging \u201ccontinued targeting of religious minorities in Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n
Officials said the incident of June 24-26, 2026 triggered an immediate response from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who ordered a probe.<\/p>\n
Minorities Minister Ramesh Singh Arora visited the site and directed full restoration.\u201cPakistan remains committed to safeguarding all religious sites,\u201d the statement said, adding that India should look into its own record first. It cited the 1984 Operation Blue Star and anti-Sikh pogroms, the 2023 conversion of Guru Nanak Taposthan Gurdwara in Arunachal Pradesh into a Buddhist monastery, and ongoing demolition and encroachment of shrines in Haridwar, Puri and Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n
The statement also recalled that nearly 700 farmers, mostly Sikhs, died during the 2020-21 protests amid police violence. It said while Pakistan is restoring Gurdwaras and temples among its 1,817 minority sites with dozens renovated in recent years, India continues systemic persecution of Sikhs and other minorities<\/p>\n
