Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has launched his \u201cRam Raksha\u201d agitation over the donation embezzlement at the Ayodhya Ram temple and launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, saying those \u201clooting Hindus are in power.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a rally outside the Hanuman temple in Dadar in central Mumbai, where he recited \u201cHanuman Stotra\u201d and \u201cHanuman Chalisa\u201d, Thackeray demanded an impartial probe into the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf anyone loots a temple by misusing Hindutva, then Hindus will not spare them,\u201d he said. Wearing a saffron kurta, the Sena (UBT) chief said, \u201cIt is unfortunate that those looting Hindus are in power. A robber cannot be asked to probe his robbery. It has to be done impartially.\u201dThackeray claimed he was worried about what would happen in Kashi and Mathura, referring to the slogan \u201cAyodhya toh jhanki hai, Kashi, Mathura abhi baaki hain (Ayodhya was a trailer, and Kashi and Mathura are yet to come).\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are fierce, innocent, nation-loving Hindus, but not fools,\u201d he said. He added that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray awakened Hindus, but \u201cthey are being hypnotised today.\u201dThe alleged embezzlement of Ram temple donations came to light on June 7. Later, an FIR was registered on June 25 following a preliminary report by the Special Investigation Team constituted by the UP government.<\/p>\n
Eight persons associated with the temple\u2019s donation and counting process have been arrested in the case, and the investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
