Srinagar: India’s intensified military activities and large-scale mock drills in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have raised fears that New Delhi could be laying the groundwork for another false flag operation to malign the Kashmir freedom movement and Pakistan.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian Army conducted coordinated mock drills at multiple locations along the Line of Control and in the hinterland of Poonch, simulating a “terrorist attack” and emergency response. Simultaneously, Indian forces intensified troop deployment, established additional checkpoints, increased surveillance and launched extensive area domination patrols in Mendhar, Surankote and adjoining areas, citing unspecified intelligence inputs about possible infiltration attempts.<\/p>\n
Analysts said the sudden escalation in military activity, accompanied by repeated claims of imminent “terror threats” without credible evidence, reflects India’s continuing strategy of creating an atmosphere of fear and war hysteria in the occupied territory. They warned that such exercises have often preceded attempts by New Delhi to manufacture security crises aimed at diverting attention from its failures in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
The observers cautioned that the latest military build-up comes at a time when Pakistan’s international standing has significantly improved following its constructive diplomatic role in efforts that helped ease tensions after the Iran-US crisis. They said India’s ruling BJP regime may seek to engineer another false flag incident to undermine Pakistan’s growing diplomatic credibility, revive its anti-Pakistan narrative and falsely implicate the Kashmir freedom movement in acts of violence.<\/p>\n
Political experts urged the international community to closely monitor developments along the Line of Control and in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, warning that any suspicious incident should be subjected to an impartial international investigation.
