Srinagar: Indian forces continued their massive cordon and search operation in Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on the fourth consecutive day, today.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation was launched on Friday night by the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, para commandos, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group in Saidpora Payan, Amshipora, Shamsipora, Chanapora, Gundhadoo, Chak Shamsipora, Chak Amshipora and adjoining areas of Shopian district.<\/p>\n

The operation has kept large parts of the district under a heavy military siege on the fourth day today. The troops ordered residents of at least six villages to remain indoors and barred them from visiting their apple orchards and agricultural fields. Indian forces also forced people to shut down their business establishments.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Indian forces have further expanded their prolonged military operation in different areas of Manjkote and Sunderbani in Rajouri district, which entered its 46th consecutive day today. Massive search operations backed by drones and gunship helicopters continued in the areas, while surveillance systems monitored the movement of people in Rajouri and Poonch districts.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Indian troops claimed to have busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a cordon and search operation in the Keran area of Kupwara district.
