\"\"Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), over 150 representatives from various sections of civil society unanimously adopted a resolution urging the BJP-led Indian government to restore full statehood to the territory without further delay.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the resolution was adopted at a meeting held at the Kashmir International Conference Centre in Srinagar, chaired by National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah and the party\u2019s Vice President and IIOJK Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The meeting focused on the issue of statehood to the occupied territory.<\/p>\n

“The gathering unanimously adopted a resolution calling upon the Union [Indian] government to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir without any further delay,” the NC said in a post on X.<\/p>\n

The resolution said that the participants collectively called upon the Indian government to fulfill its commitment by restoring full statehood to IIOJK at the earliest. The NC said that the resolution reflected the unanimous voice of civil society representatives present at the meeting, reaffirming the broad-based demand for the immediate restoration of statehood.<\/p>\n

In a separate post on X, Omar Abdullah thanked the civil society representatives for accepting the invitation and participating in the meeting. He described the deliberations as \u201cextremely productive\u201d.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention that the NC is preparing to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 20, coinciding with the opening day of the Indian parliament\u2019s Monsoon Session, to press for the restoration of IIOJK\u2019s statehood. The party has also decided to invite leader of the INDIA bloc and other political parties from IIOJK to participate in the demonstration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
