Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has directed Indian forces and security agencies to intensify so-called anti-militancy operations across the occupied territory and step up surveillance under the pretext of maintaining security.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the directives were issued during a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room in Srinagar, attended by senior officials of the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), intelligence agencies and Police.<\/p>\n
A police spokesman said during the meeting, senior officers presented detailed assessments of the security measures currently in place and shared updates on field-level preparedness across the Kashmir Valley. The DGP instructed all security agencies to maintain sustained operations against \u2018militants\u2019 and their alleged support networks, stressing greater coordination among the Indian Army, police and intelligence agencies through enhanced intelligence sharing and joint operational planning.<\/p>\n
IIOJK police chief also directed the forces to intensify surveillance, increase area domination and night operations, and establish additional checkpoints at sensitive locations and keep close watch on individuals accused of having links with pro-freedom organizations.<\/p>\n
The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, with instructions to further strengthen security along the pilgrimage routes, the Srinagar-Jammu highway, railway infrastructure and other strategic locations.<\/p>\n
Political analysts and rights observers say such directives usually lead to intensified cordon and search operations (CASOs), raids and arbitrary detentions, further deepening fear among the civilian population and reinforcing the militarized environment in IIOJK under the guise of security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
