Srinagar : National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has said the trust deficit between India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir has only widened, blaming New Delhi\u2019s failure in honouring its promises.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing party workers in Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah said, the NC would continue to seek justice through democratic means.<\/p>\n
Referring to a meeting, he said he told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the abrogation of Article 370 that “we don’t trust you and you don’t trust us.”<\/p>\n
“Modi said the distance between Delhi and Kashmir would be removed. Has it happened till now? As much as they tried to remove it, it kept growing,” he said.<\/p>\n
Recalling assurances by former PM P.V. Narasimha Rao, Abdullah said “the sky is the limit” was promised but never delivered. He asserted that people of IIOJK seek respect within India and hit out at local leaders “acting at Delhi’s behest,” urging them to “leave slavery” and stand with the people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
