Srinagar : In illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said the National Conference will proceed with its planned protest in Delhi over the delay in restoration of statehood, despite the death of his uncle Sheikh Mustafa Kamal.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdullah told reporters after visiting his uncle\u2019s residence that the party\u2019s protest programme at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on July 20 will go ahead as scheduled.<\/p>\n

\u201cKamal sahib would not have wanted any change in that,\u201d he said. \u201cSince we were not ready to cancel the July 12 programme in Jammu, this protest in Delhi will definitely go on.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about permission for the protest, the Chief Minister said no permission had been granted yet but the party would leave for Delhi on July 19. He added that an alternate plan would be kept ready if permission at Jantar Mantar is denied.<\/p>\n
