Gilgit : A delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi held separate meetings with Gilgit-Baltistan Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhtar and former minister Iman Shah.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, during the meetings, the latest situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir freedom movement and the historical significance of July 19, the day of Accession to Pakistan, were discussed in detail.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat leadership said July 19, 1947, is an important milestone in the history of the Kashmiri people when the resolution for the accession of the Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan was passed, which is the true expression of the feelings and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi on the occasion said the Kashmiri people have been making unprecedented sacrifices for the past 78 years to achieve their right to self-determination and despite Indian oppression and tyranny, their resolve has not diminished. He said Pakistan\u2019s political and public support is a source of encouragement for the Kashmiris.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhtar and former minister Iman Shah reiterated their full support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination and said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan stand with their Kashmiri brothers at all levels.<\/p>\n
They highlighted the importance of July 19, Pakistan Accession Day, and said this day symbolizes the historic decision of the Kashmiri people and their commitment to Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat delegation invited the two leaders to participate in the July 19 rally, which they accepted and assured all possible cooperation.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK delegation visited the central office of Anjuman Imamia Gilgit-Baltistan, where the Anjuman President Syed Sharafuddin, General Secretary Haji Ghulam Abbas, Deputy General Secretary Kausar Hussain, Vice President Naeem Suleman, Secretary Development Affairs Haj Tariq Abbas, Senior Vice President Sakhi Ahmed Jan and other office bearers welcomed the delegates.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed the current situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, serious human rights violations by Indian forces, the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people and the importance of the historic resolution of accession to Pakistan of July 19, 1947.<\/p>\n
Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi on the occasion said the ulema have always played a historic and commendable role in the Pakistan Movement and the Kashmir freedom movement.<\/p>\n
He said the religious leadership has raised the morale of the Kashmiri people, for which the entire Kashmiri people pay tribute to them. He said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are following in the footsteps of Imam Hussain (RA).<\/p>\n
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the approval of the Pakistan Accession Resolution of July 19, 1947 in Srinagar is a clear symbol of the collective determination of the Kashmiri people and their historical, ideological and emotional ties with Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Syed Sharfuddin, President of the Central Anjuman Imamia Gilgit-Baltistan and Haji Ghulam Abbas, General Secretary, said they stand by the oppressed. “We consider Gilgit-Baltistan a part of Jammu and Kashmir and see the solution to the long-pending Kashmir dispute in the United Nations resolutions.<\/p>\n
They termed the July 19 event as of historical importance and assured all possible cooperation for its success.<\/p>\n
