\"\"<\/strong>Islamabad: Speakers at a seminar held at Kashmir House in Islamabad to mark the 18th martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmir freedom leader Shaikh Abdul Aziz said that the martyred leader devoted his entire life to the Kashmiri people\u2019s right to self-determination and resistance to Indian occupation, ultimately laying down his life for the cause.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar event was jointly organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell. APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi presided over the event, while former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider was the chief guest.<\/p>\n

The speakers included Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Amir Dr Muhammad Mushtaq, Uzma Hamid Gul, Director of the Liberation Commission Afsar Khan, and APHC-AJK leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Ejaz Rehmani, Altaf Ahmad Butt and others.<\/p>\n

The speakers paid rich tributes to Shaikh Abdul Aziz, describing his lifelong struggle, steadfastness and supreme sacrifice as a bright and unforgettable chapter in the history of the Kashmir freedom movement. They said he was a sincere, honest and principled leader who placed the interests of the Kashmiri people above personal considerations and remained steadfast in his struggle for their fundamental rights.<\/p>\n

They said Shaikh Abdul Aziz\u2019s sacrifice would continue to inspire future generations with courage, determination and steadfastness, and eaffirmed their resolve to carry forward his mission and advance the Kashmir freedom struggle through political, diplomatic and moral means.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants unanimously adopted a resolution, pledging to organize and intensify efforts at every level to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir and make their sacrifices meaningful.<\/p>\n

The resolution said the ideas and slogans of Shaheed Syed Ali Gilani and Shaheed Shaikh Abdul Aziz represented the ideological, political and economic aspirations of the Kashmiri people. It strongly condemned Indian atrocities in IIOJK, including killings, arbitrary arrests, demolitions of homes and shops, and attempts to alter the demographic composition of the territory.<\/p>\n

The resolution urged the Government of Pakistan to mobilize the international community to play its role in securing a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute in line with the relevant UN resolutions and the Kashmiri people\u2019s right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

The participants also paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan armed forces and offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Shaikh Abdul Aziz and all other martyrs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
