Srinagar : The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the people to celebrate August 14 (Friday), Pakistan\u2019s Independence Day, as \u2018Jashn-e-Azadi\u2019 and to observe August 15 (Saturday), India\u2019s Independence Day, as Black Day in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Adv. Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the Indian BJP government had no moral right to celebrate its Independence Day as it has held the people and land of Jammu and Kashmir illegally for the last 78 years through military might and Hindutva RSS agendas.<\/p>\n
The spokesman said, \u201cNot only has our identity been snatched, but the Indian BJP government is also racing ahead with a well-planned genocide to change the identity, demographic, religious and rights character of the Muslim-majority territory to satisfy its Hindutva RSS\/BJP totalitarian and communal goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
He deplored that all basic human rights, civil liberties, freedom of expression, political activism and voice had been ruthlessly snatched and violated by the Indian BJP regime in the occupied territory. \u201cOver 450,000 people have been murdered, killed in custody and in fake encounters. Tens of thousands have been tortured, blinded and imprisoned,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, APHC leaders in Srinagar, in their separate statements, said: \u201c14th August – congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the 79th independence anniversary.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Kashmir dispute is an unfinished agenda of the partition of the Indian subcontinent,\u201d the leaders said. \u201cPakistan is the champion of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.\u201d<\/p>\n
They added, \u201cSustainable peace cannot be established in the region without resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the resolutions of the United Nations.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPakistan is a precious gift of Allah Almighty. Kashmiris consider themselves a part of this country and are struggling to free Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation and to accede to Pakistan,\u201d the leaders said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
