New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the Opposition was not interested in listening to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah\u2019s \u201clecture\u201d in Parliament, asserting they, including the younger generation, want answers and accountability over the police action against protesting students.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Rahul Gandhi\u2019s remarks came after Amit Shah said the government was ready to discuss all issues in Parliament, including the students’ protests.<\/p>\n
Speaking with reporters in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, questioned who ordered the use of force, including pellet guns, against the students and said responsibility must be fixed.<\/p>\n
He said if Amit Shah had ordered the firing, he was culpable, and if he had not, he was incompetent, and in either case, he should resign.<\/p>\n
Gandhi also said that Amit Shah’s image “balloon” had been deflated, adding there was a last-ditch attempt to fill it with gas but “the balloon has burst”.<\/p>\n
“Amit Shah has no courage, he cannot come to the House,” he said.<\/p>\n
Gandhi said, \u201c(Congress president Mallikarjun) Kharge ji and myself did a press conference and the rest of the opposition has made it clear -we are not interested in listening to Mr. Amit Shah\u2019s imagination. We are not interested in him giving us a lecture or a discussion.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are interested in one simple thing. When I say we, I mean the younger generation of this country \u2013 who shot those students, who gave the order to shoot those students, who blinded one of the students, who shot one of the students in the ear, who gave the order to beat the students with lathis and nails, who gave that order, that order was implemented by the home ministry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
