Muzaffarabad: A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, led by senior Hurriyat leader Shamim Shawl, held an important meeting with the Registrar of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University, Saadat Hanif Dar.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the purpose of the meeting was to ensure the participation and cooperation of the university administration in a special seminar organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Kashmir Liberation Cell in connection with the fifth martyrdom anniversary of the veteran Hurriyat Syed Ali Gilani.<\/p>\n
Director of Kashmir Studies Dr Sameera, senior Hurriyat leaders Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Syed Gulshan and Mushtaq Ahmed Butt were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
The meeting paid tribute to the struggle, principled stance, steadfastness and eternal sacrifices of Syed Ali Gilani for the Kashmir freedom movement spanning more than half a century.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat leaders emphasized that Syed Ali Geelani was not just a political leader but a strong symbol of the political awareness, right to self-determination and resistance of the Kashmiri nation.<\/p>\n
They said despite adverse circumstances, imprisonment, political pressure and continuous restrictions, he never deviated from his principled stance. His life is an exemplary example of determination, perseverance, ideological commitment and political consciousness for the younger generation, they added.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat delegation also emphasized that universities and educational institutions play a fundamental role in promoting historical awareness, intellectual dialogue and understanding of national and international issues in any society.<\/p>\n
The delegates said discussion on various aspects of the political and intellectual struggle of the veteran Hurriyat Syed Ali Gilani at an academic and research level is the need of the hour, so that the new generation can be effectively informed about the history of Kashmir, the basic nature of the conflict and the various stages of the political struggle of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
Welcoming the Hurriyat delegation, Saadat Hanif Dar, Registrar of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University, paid tribute to the services and struggle of Syed Ali Gilani and assured full participation and cooperation in the seminar.<\/p>\n
Later, the Hurriyat delegation also met with Dr Abida, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Sohili Sarkar, and stressed on the seminar to be held in connection with the fifth martyrdom anniversary of the Hurriyat leader.<\/p>\n
The delegation also highlighted the historical background of Kashmir, the freedom movement and the intellectual and political services of Syed Ali Gilani.<\/p>\n
It reiterated its resolve that effective efforts will be continued at the academic, political and diplomatic levels to pass on the intellectual legacy of Syed Ali Geelani, his principled stance and his unparalleled struggle for the Kashmir freedom movement to the new generation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
