Jammu: Protests were held in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the anti-people policies of the authorities.<\/p>\n
Daily wagers, casual workers, land donors and similar other employees staged a protest demonstration and raised slogans in favour of their demands.<\/p>\n
The protest was staged under the banner of All J&K Daily Wagers Sangharsh Samiti near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh on Tawi Bridge.<\/p>\n
The protesters were demanding regularization of their services and release of their pending wages. One of the protesters, Chanchla Devi said that their demand also included implementation of Minimum Wages Act in J&K.<\/p>\n
She said that her land was taken by a government department in return for a casual job on a meager salary of Rs 1000. More protesters said that they will grill the authorities on opening of move offices in Jammu. “Our agitation will continue till our services are not regularized,” they maintained.<\/p>\n
The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation Employees Union continued its protest seeking redressal of various long-pending issues, including timely release of salaries, deposit of CPF\/EPF deductions, settlement of retirement benefits, regularization of eligible daily wagers and conduct of the pending Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).<\/p>\n
EJAC Provincial president Jammu, Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh and Provincial general secretary Onkar Singh joined the protesting employees and extended full support to their demands.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, the EJAC leaders urged the authorities concerned to intervene immediately and ensure time-bound settlement of the issues confronting the employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC).<\/p>\n
The depositors of Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd, Jammu, held a strong protest in Jammu, expressing serious concern over the continued difficulties being faced by thousands of depositors in accessing and withdrawing their own hard-earned savings. employment.<\/p>\n
