Paris: The poison of Hindu extremism is no longer confined to the subcontinent as it is seeping into the streets of France, eroding the very foundations of libert\u00e9, \u00e9galit\u00e9, fraternit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, a public meeting on the Rise of Hindu Extremism in France, convened by Indian Alliance Paris alongside CGT, ATTAC and ACTIT in Paris gave the warning in this regard.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by around 50 participants from Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Tamil communities.<\/p>\n
Speakers said Modi’s Hindutva doctrine, structured by the RSS and enforced as state ideology, has crossed borders through diaspora networks and affiliated sects and far-right Hindu forces are coordinating internationally, extending RSS-linked influence across Europe and fusing with authoritarian nationalism and anti-migrant racism. They said the timing of the meeting was deliberate, coinciding with the inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir near Paris, as this is not cultural outreach but ideological occupation.<\/p>\n
Citing a disturbing incident on the same day, participants said a Hindu religious delegation linked to temple events visited the Eiffel Tower where female staff were ordered to leave their posts, replaced by men and made invisible so the group could move without interactions with women.<\/p>\n
The humiliation was so stark that tower workers went on strike, closing the monument. \u201cThis is the concrete face of imported Hindu orthodoxy: gender apartheid imposed on French soil at one of the world\u2019s most iconic symbols of republican equality,\u201d speakers observed. They warned that socially the Indian diaspora is being mobilised as a transmission belt for Hindutva, fragmenting communities, normalising hierarchical and exclusionary values and challenging France\u2019s secular, feminist core, while economically, temple projects and diaspora capital risk becoming soft-power levers that pressure local politics and labour norms.<\/p>\n
Hindutva does not stop at India\u2019s borders, it has arrived in Paris and Europe must confront it before democratic norms are further diluted, the meeting warned, calling for shared resistance from unions and civil society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
