\"\"New Delhi: Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh has acknowledged capability gaps in the force, saying it needs greater capacity, faster induction of equipment and \u201cmore combat mass\u201d amid rapidly evolving military technology.<\/p>\n

Singh made the remarks while addressing air warriors and IAF veterans at the Air Force Auditorium at Subroto Park in New Delhi on the eve of the IAF\u2019s 94th anniversary.<\/p>\n

He said the IAF was moving in the \u201cright direction\u201d but the pace of capability development could be faster.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Indian Air Force is moving in the right direction, but the pace can be little faster than it is today,\u201d Singh said, stressing the need to strengthen the force\u2019s capabilities in response to rapidly changing technology.<\/p>\n

He said there were areas where the IAF required \u201cgreater capacity, faster induction and more combat mass.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the IAF chief, the force has in recent years shifted its focus from a \u201cplatform-centric to capability-centric\u201d approach, alongside greater integration of different components.<\/p>\n

Singh is due to retire this month and will hand over command of the IAF to Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, who has been named as his successor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
