India has to shun hegemonic approach towards Kashmir

Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Working President of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Jahangir Ghani Butt has said that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and yet to be settled according to the will of Kashmiri people.

Jahangir Ghani Butt addressing party activists in Sopore and Langate areas of North Kashmir said India should shun its hegemonic approach and take steps for the resolution of Kashmir dispute as it is directly linked to the peace and stability of the region.

He said it was India which took the Kashmir dispute to the United Nations and promised to hold plebiscite in Kashmir, however, from the last several decades the successive regimes time and again were playing delaying tactics to make millions of people hostage.

Jahangir said people of Kashmir are not begging for talks, but it is need of the hour to address the Kashmir dispute peacefully so that harassment and human rights violations on the people of Kashmir could come to an end.

He also strongly condemned the ban on social media and Internet in Kashmir and said that by such tactics India’s claim of biggest democracy has been exposed.
