Student protesters brutally charged in IOK

Kashmiris prefer freedom over slavery

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many students were injured while over a dozen girl students fainted when Indian forces resorted to massive tear and pepper gas shelling against protesting students in Baramulla, Kulgam, Bandipora and Islamabad districts.

As the students raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans marched on the streets in Pattan, Hajin and Dooru areas, Indian police and paramilitary forces used brute force on protesting students. Over a dozen female students fainted besides injuries to many in the forces’ action. In another incident, the troops beat up women who were protesting against the brutalities of Indian forces and thrashing of civilians during crackdown operation in Okay area of Kulgam district.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in their statements categorically denounced the assertions of puppet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that people of Kashmir would have to choose between terrorism and Kashmiriyat. They made it clear to Mehbooba Mufti that the Kashmiris had opted for freedom and rejected slavery and were pursuing their cherished goal for the past several decades.

The puppet regime headed by Mehbooba Mufti has booked ailing Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief Aasiya Andrabi and her associate Faheemda Sofi under black law Public Safety Act. The authorities had also ordered shifting the DeM leaders to Kotbhalwal Jail in Jammu. Dozens of Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists, today, staged a protest demonstration at Press Colony in Srinagar against the slapping of black law, Public Safety Act on Aasiya Andrabi and Sofi Fehmeeda.

Indian police arrested at least nine youth, mostly teenagers, while they were shooting pictures with Pakistani flag at world’s famous tourist resort, Pahalgam. Most of the detainees were students and had come to Pahalgam for a picnic.

Puppet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was heckled and hooted during a function in Srinagar, today. As the Mehbbooba Mufti reached the venue and began to address the audience, the women rose from their seats and started raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The protesting women broke chairs and tried to capture the podium. However, police managed to rescue the puppet chief minister and kept her in a safe house for more than an hour.

On the other hand, a demonstration organized by the Youth Alliance for Kashmir Movement was held in Islamabad, today, against the Indian brutalities on students of occupied Kashmir. Hurriyet AJK leaders including Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Abdul Hameed Lone, Sheikh Abdul Mateen and Manzoorul Haq Butt were among the speakers on the occasion.
