Muzaffarabad, May 18 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter (APHC-AJK) staged a protest against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.
The participants of the protest included APHC-AJK Convener, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Hurriyet leaders, Altaf Hussain Wani, Ishfaq Mujeed Mir, Raja Shaheen, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, Pervaiz Ahmad Shah, Dawood Achakzai, Imtiyaz Wani, Mushtaq Adeel Wani, Nazir Ahmad Karnahi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Khawaja Farooq Haider, members of Jamaat-e-Islami AJK and Refugees Action Committee.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers condemned the killing of innocent people, arrest of Hurriyet leaders and students and other brutalities of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. They urged the world community to take notice of the grim human rights situation of the occupied territory. They also condemned the violations of ceasefire by Indian troops on the Line of Control (LoC).
The speakers said that it was need of the hour to approach the UN Human Rights Council to pressurize India to stop state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. They said that India was lying about the pellet guns being non-lethal, adding that these weapons could not be called non-lethal as the bullets fired from them had blinded hundreds of people in the occupied territory.
The speakers called upon the UN and major world powers to intervene on the Kashmir dispute and impress upon India for implementation of the UN resolutions to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute.
The speakers asked the government of Pakistan to speed up its diplomatic efforts to highlight at the international level the Indian atrocities on the people of occupied Kashmir.
