Srinagar, May 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the pro-freedom organizations have strongly condemned the Indian forces’ massive crackdowns in Wokai, Kulgam, and Heff-Shirmal, Shopian, where more than 100 persons including women were injured due to the use of force by Indian police and troops during peaceful protests and house to house searches.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed concern over the return of 1990s-like crackdown on civilians in the occupied territory. It said that the forces’ personnel targeted innocent people particularly the family members of mujahideen from the villages.
The Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that Indian forces were writing a fresh black history of human rights violations. It said that such military approach for the last 30 years had failed to defeat the Kashmiris’ desire for freedom despite subjecting them to the worst form of brutalities.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in its statement in Srinagar said, whosoever comes in the way of Indian forces in their war against common Kashmiris is being oppressed and suppressed through military might. It said that India’s brutal tactics could not intimidate the Kashmiri people into submission.
The Jamaat-e-Islami of the occupied territory in its statement in Srinagar said that that the occupational forces fired indiscriminately upon protesters at Wokai, Kulgam, and Heff-Shirmal, Shopian. It said that forces during the search operations were mainly targeting the family members of the local Mujahideen and ransacking their houses.
The Jamaat strongly denounced these forces’ atrocious being committed on the Israeli pattern against the unarmed civilians and appealed to the international community to intervene and take effective measures to stop this Indian state terrorism.
