Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that peace in Kashmir and peaceful relations between India and Pakistan will remain a distant dream until the commitment with the Kashmiri people is fulfilled and the Kashmir issue is resolved as per their aspirations.

Syed Ali Gilani said this while talking to an Indian delegation that called on him at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar, today. The delegation was led by senior Congress leader, Mani Shankar Aiyar. The other members of the delegation included O P Shah, I D Khajuria, Kapil Kak and Vinod Sharma. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership has called for peaceful protest demonstrations across the territory, tomorrow, after Friday prayers against the award of Army Chief’s Commendation Card to Major Leetul Gogoi for tying a Kashmiri youth, Farooq Ahmad Dar, to an army jeep as human shield last month in Badgam district.

The resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, termed the acquittal of Major Gogoi by Court of Inquiry and honouring him with Army Chief’s Commendation Card as an undeniable proof that India was a fascist country. The leaders urged International Court of Justice, Amnesty International and other human rights organizations to raise voice against this crime against humanity. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamia Auqaf Committee, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has urged the puppet authorities to refrain from deploying Indian forces’ personnel near the Jamia Masjid during the holy month of Ramazan.

The committee spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the presence of hundreds of forces’ personnel around the Masjid instills fear among the worshippers. “It is because of such a huge deployment of forces around Jamia Masjid that peace is disrupted every Friday and it also becomes a major reason for inconvenience caused to worshippers who come to Jamia Masjid travelling long distances,” he added. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a paper presented at a seminar in Srinagar while describing Jammu and Kashmir as one of the most dangerous flashpoints of the world has pointed out that the overall situation in the Kashmir Valley is a mess, civil administration has broken down and essential services has crumbled.

The paper was read out at an event organized by Centre for Peace and Progress at a local hotel in Srinagar by I D Khajuria, a functionary of the School for Nature-Human studies, Kolkata. It said that India was seeking resolution of the Kashmir dispute through military means. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged global human rights watchdogs including the International Committee of Red Cross and Amnesty International to take cognizance of miserable plight of Kashmiri political detainees and impress upon India to release them forthwith.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed concern over the continued unlawful detention of Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Yousuf Parrey, saying that the authorities while defying court rulings have slapped the third draconian law, Public Safety Act, on him. »
