Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in another move of encouraging Indian troops to commit grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, the army officer, Major Leetul Gogoi, who tied a defenseless youth to the bonnet of a jeep as a human shield in Budgam area, last month, has been awarded Indian Army Chief’s Commendation Card.

The officer was awarded by Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, during his recent visit to occupied Kashmir. »

IAF Chief writes personal letters to officers

New Delhi, May 23 (KMS): In a very unusual development, around 12,000 officers of the Indian Air Force have received personal letters from Air Chief Marshal, BS Dhanoa, asking them to be ready for operations ‘at a very short notice’.

The letter signed on March 30 has given rise to speculation over the deteriorating situation in occupied Kashmir, the Line of Control and the Pak-India border. »

Muzaffarabad, May 23 (KMS): A veteran Kashmiri liberation leader, Doctor Abdul Aala, passed away in Muzaffarabad, this morning. He was admitted in a local hospital last week when his health condition deteriorated.

Dr Aala spent his whole life while working for Kashmir’s liberation from Indian occupation. He remained associated with many freedom organizations including Al-Fatah in mid sixties.

He was detained by Indian authorities many times and had migrated to Azad Jammu and Kashmir after 1990.

Funeral prayer of the deceased was held at University College Ground in Muzaffarabad. »

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik has said that neither Kashmir nor Kashmiris belong to India.

Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar while reacting to the recent assertions of the Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other leaders, who said that Kashmir, Kashmiris and Kashmiriyat belonged to them (India) only. »

Norwegian parliament moved for debate on Kashmir

kashmir,Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students continued to hit the streets in Srinagar, Baramulla and other areas of the territory to protest against the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.

The students of Gandhi Memorial College and MP ML Higher Secondary School came out of their college and school and assembled on main road to record their protest. Police lobbed teargas shells on the protesting students which triggered clashes. The students raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The police pelted stones on reporters and photographers and chased them away to prevent them from coverage. Clashes were also reported between students and Indian forces at Palhalan in Baramulla district. »

Oslo, May 22 (KMS): An interpolation has been tabled in the Norwegian parliament urging the world community to play its active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute to avert a possible nuclear war in the South Asian region.

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): Sweltering heat of Rajastan has adversely affected the health of four Kashmiri detainees who have been languishing in Jaipur jail for the past two decades.

He brother of one of the detained Srinagar youth told media men in Srinagar that the plight of four detainees from Kashmir in Jaipur jail is pitiable. “Besides my brother Latif Ahmed Waja and Mirza Nisar Hussain both residents of Khanqah-e-Mollah, there is Ali Muhammad Butt from Hasanabad Srinagar and Abdul Ghani Goni of Doda in the jail. »

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the national anthem of Azad Kashmir was played ahead of a cricket match in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, reports said.

A video clip of the event, which has gone viral on the Internet, has been reportedly filmed just moments ahead of the clash between Shining Star Pampore and Pulwama Tigers during the final match of the tourney. »

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, actor-turned politician and Member of Indian Parliament from Bharatiya Janata Party, Paresh Rawal has demanded that eminent author and political activist Arundhati Roy should be tied to an army jeep, Indian media reported.

The statement comes in the wake of a video going viral last month which showed a young Kashmiri man tied to the front of an Indian Army vehicle, being paraded in a village in Badgam district. »
