Jammu, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown was observed in Kishtwar district against the recent killing of a civilian by Indian troops in Tral.
The civilian was killed after Indian troops opened fire on demonstrations that erupted following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sabzar Ahmed Butt, in Saimoh area of Tral on Saturday.
Majority of the business establishments, educational institutions and offices across the Kishtwar district remained closed while public transport was off the roads. Call for the strike was given by the Imam of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo, to protest the killing of the civilian.
