Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has stayed a trial court’s proceedings in a case of custodial killing as the criminal Indian policemen involved in the murder of an innocent civilian have moved an application for transferring the case to Jammu.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora, had last month closed the arguments in the custodial killing of 21-year-old Zahoor Ahmad Sofi of Brar village on September 4, 2006 at a camp of Special Operations Group (SOG) of Indian police located at Kaloosa in Bandipora. »

Jammu, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown was observed in Kishtwar district against the recent killing of a civilian by Indian troops in Tral.

The civilian was killed after Indian troops opened fire on demonstrations that erupted following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sabzar Ahmed Butt, in Saimoh area of Tral on Saturday. »

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of Aijaz Ahmad Mir who was martyred by Indian troops in Nathipora area of Sopore on Thursday have said that he wanted to become a lawyer but the continued harassment by Indian troops and police forced him to leave his studies midway.

Aijaz’s father, Abdul Qayoom Mir, who is a fruit trader by profession, in an interview said, “In 2013, my son was pursuing masters in Arabic at Bhopal University. He came back home on holiday in July the same year to attend the marriage of his cousin. A day after he had come, Indian forces picked him up from his home, kept him for three days at the army camp at Seelu, Sopore, and then he was taken to the SOG camp at Sopore, where he was kept for a few days before he was shifted to Sopore police station.” »
