Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned a malicious campaign by India to malign the Hurriyet leadership and the ongoing freedom movement.

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, APHC General Secretary and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has urged the United Nations to take practical steps for settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said though the concern expressed by the UN over Kashmir is satisfactory but the World Body should rise above the rhetorical statements on Kashmir and take practical steps for its solution. »

Two Indian soldiers killed, four injured in IOK attack

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, frustrated over the exemplary unity among the Kashmiri people and Hurriyet leaders, Indian authorities have launched a malicious campaign to malign the Hurriyet leadership and the ongoing freedom movement.

Indian National Investigation Agency is continuing a massive crackdown against the resistance leaders to implicate them in false cases to break their resolve towards the freedom movement. The NIA has conducted raids on the offices and residences of many leaders and subjected them to harassment. The NIA had already questioned some Hurriyet leaders including Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Farooq Ahmed Dar. Besides, the NIA reportedly registered a fake FIR against some Hurriyet leaders. »

Fearing student protests against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sabzar Ahmed Butt, and other youth by Indian troops, the puppet authorities had announced closure of the colleges and schools for today. »

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown, marked by anti-India demonstrations, is being observed in Islamabad town, today, against the brutalities of Indian police.

All shops, business establishments, schools and government offices are closed while traffic is off the road in the town.

Local people told mediamen that one of the teargas shells fired by the police landed in a residential house in Reshi Bazar area of the town, yesterday, which turned four houses into ashes.

Scores of youth raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans assembled in the town, today, to protest against the atrocities of the police. The police used brute force on the demonstrators, triggering clashes between the protesters and the police personnel. »

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): A report by BBC quoting Indian army sources has revealed that many soldiers fear that they are effectively becoming an “army of occupation” in Kashmir.

The report titled “Why Indian army defended Kashmir ‘human shield’ officer” appeared on BBC.com on May 31, 2017. Indian army sources have told BBC that morale among soldiers stationed in the Kashmir Valley is very low. Many soldiers are becoming increasingly uncomfortable with their role in Kashmir, saying they fear they are effectively becoming an army of occupation, says the report.

The report puts in perspective the controversy surrounding the awarding the army major who committed the act of tying a Kashmiri youth, Farooq Ahmed Dar, to the bonnet of an army jeep and paraded him through many villages of Budgam. »
