Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned a malicious campaign by India to malign the Hurriyet leadership and the ongoing freedom movement.

The resistance leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar denounced a massive crackdown by Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) against the resistance leaders to implicate them in false cases to break their resolve towards the freedom movement.

They said that the NIA was also threatening to re-open the old fake cases in which the courts had acquitted the Hurriyet leaders, adding that such cheap tactics could not suppress the Hurriyet leadership. They said that it was nothing but to hide their misdeed from the international community.

The resistance leaders said that it was frustration of the Indian government over the exemplary unity among the Kashmiri people and Hurriyet leaders. They said that harassment by the Indian authorities could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people and they would continue their struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion.

The NIA has conducted raids on the offices and residences of many Hurriyet leaders and subjected them to harassment.
