Srinagar, June 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have said that peace in South Asia will remain a distant dream unless Kashmir dispute is resolved as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing different gatherings in Islamabad district urged Pakistan and India to initiate meaningful and result-oriented talks on Kashmir. However, he stressed the inclusion of genuine Kashmiri leadership in any talks on Kashmir, saying the process would remain meaningless without their participation.

“The universal principle of right to self-determination is the only road through which peace can be achieved in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Tehreek-e-Mazhamat Chairman Bilal Ahmad Sidiquee said that the blood of martyrs and their sacred sacrifices were collective treasure of the people of Kashmir.

Addressing people at the residences of martyrs Basharat Ahmed and Ajaz Ahmed in Sopore, he said that frustrated by the uncompromising resolve of people of Kashmir towards the cause of freedom, India was resorting to cheap means to malign the pro-freedom leadership.

Hurriyet leader and the Peoples Political Front Chairman, Mohammad Musaddiq Aadil in a statement in Srinagar has urged India to come to the negotiation table and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the aspiration of Kashmiri people.

He said that Pakistan was the basic party in the dispute and tripartite dialogue including India, Pakistan and the genuine leadership of the Kashmiri people should be included in the composite dialogue.

Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen Chairperson, Zamrooda Habib in a statement expressed sorrow over the gutting of houses and shops in shelling by Indian troops in Reshi Bazaar in Islamabad district.
