Srinagar, June 9 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred six more Kashmiri youth in Baramulla district, today.

The youth were killed by Indian troops during continued military operation in Uri area of the district.

“Militants opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons. The troopers retaliated ensuing in an encounter resulting in the killing of six militants,” Indian army defence sources claimed. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, defying curfew and other restrictions, people staged forceful anti-India demonstrations, today, while Indian forces’ personnel used brute force on the demonstrators, injuring several persons.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to protest against the killing of a 12th class student, Aadil Farooq Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian. The protests were also aimed at denouncing the biased reporting by Indian TV channels on Kashmir and the raids of India’s National Investigation Agency on the residences of pro-freedom leaders, activists and businessmen. The leaders had also asked the people of South Kashmir to march towards the residence of martyr Aadil Farooq in Shopian to express solidarity with the bereaved family. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities on Friday closed all gates of Jamia Masjid Srinagar and sealed all routes leading to the historical mosque to prevent people from gathering for weekly congregational prayers.

The authorities’ move was aimed at stopping people from staging demonstrations against the killing of a student, Aadil Farooq Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian. Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik against Aadil’s cold-blooded murder. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): Amnesty International has said that the use of excessive force and shooting of a student inside a school in Kashmir by Indian forces must be swiftly and impartially investigated and those responsible brought to justice.

Reports quoting Amnesty International India officials said, “Schools are supposed to be safe and peaceful spaces where respect for human rights is fostered. The use of excessive force against students inside their school is unacceptable, and strikes at their right to education.” »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Friday expressed concern over the continued house arrest of its Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, saying the puppet authorities have crossed all limits of oppression in the territory.

The DFP General Secretary, Maulana Abdullah Tari, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, since release from jail in 2011, Shabbir Shah has spent three years and 8 months in detention and has been barred from offering 249 Friday and 12 Eid prayers. He said Shabbir Shah has spent 31 years of his life in jails and the authorities are resorting to political vengeance. His residence has been converted into a sub jail, he added. »

Geneva, June 09 (KMS): The United Nations is witnessing quick developments on Kashmir conflict. The latest is the floating of a proposal to appoint a UN Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir. The move is in its initial stages. Several countries are involved in private discussions on the proposal, and a lot depends on Pakistan’s ability to leverage its influence.

The Kashmiri delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has requested the world’s top rights body to appoint a Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir, another step that increases diplomatic pressure on India in the seven-decades-old Kashmir dispute. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Hurriyet leaders, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Qazi Ahmed Yasir, from Islamabad town, today, to prevent them from leading peaceful demonstrations against the killing of a 12th class student, Aadil Farooq Magray, and other youth by Indian troops.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police took Mukhtar Ahmad Waza into custody when he tried to come out of his home. Later, he was put under house arrest in Kadipora area of the town. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 12th class student, Sameer Ahmad, is battling for life in the Intensive Care Unit at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar.

The 17-year-old student from Khulchuhar-Mattan in Islamabad district was shot at by Indian paramilitary personnel on 28 May during the demonstrations against the killing of top Hizb commander, Sabzar Ahmad Butt, who was killed by Indian troops in Tral, on the previous day. »
