Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Ummat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, today, organised a protest march to demand the release of its  Chairman, Qazi Ahmed Yasir and five youth arrested from Islamabad town.

Hundreds of people gathered in the Jamia Masjid raising slogans to denounce the arrest spree.

Addressing the gathering, senior leader of Ummat-e-Islami, Mir Bilal condemned the atrocities of the police. He also denounced the killing spree and called for the immediate release of  Qazi Yasir. However, when the procession started marching towards Lal Chowk, a heavy contingent of police stopped the protesters.

Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Ghulam Nabi War, Khawaja Firdous Wani and Mohammad Shafi Lone have strongly reacted over the statement made by Indian Army chief, Bipin Rawat.

Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat had said use of human shield is not a norm but individual officers are entitled to decide tactics depending on circumstances.

The Hurriyet leaders in their statements in Srinagar said that the remarks by Army Chief were irresponsible and would encourage forces to do mass killings in Kashmir under the shades of black laws.
