Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for peaceful protest demonstrations on Friday against raids by India’s National Investigation Agency and brutalities of Indian troops in Shopian district.
The resistance leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that NIA was being used to harass the genuine Kashmiri leadership, saying New Delhi was using NIA as a war weapon against leadership and business community. They condemned ransacking of properties during night raids in Shopian. They demanded immediate release of all political prisoners.
Puppet authorities have waged war on innocent civilians, they said while ridiculing ruling party in Delhi and said that they are not serious to solve Kashmir dispute as they instead of following political means, are pursuing their repressive policy and fanatical ideology.
Reacting sharply over raids conducted by NIA, the joint leadership said that Indian government is frustrated to the extent that they frame and raid residences of pro-freedom leaders and activists on the pre-planned psychological crackdown, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their nation, thereby covering and shielding their atrocities and barbarism against common and unarmed people.
They warned authorities of dire consequences and said if these repressive tactics are not stopped forthwith, they will resent and call a public protest against these repressive measures.
The leadership urged immediate release of all prisoners ahead of Eid.
Leadership denounced authorities for uncalled-for night raids in Turk Wangam and Wheil in Shopian and said that Indian forces had turned occupied Kashmir into a battle field.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani warned the Indian authorities over the worsening health of Altaf Shah, whose fluctuating blood sugar level has gone up after he was called to Delhi for daily questioning following NIA raid at his Srinagar house on June 3.
