South Kashmir will observe shutdown on Nisar’s anniversary

Srinagar, June 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Ummat-e- Islami, Qazi Yasir has called for shutdown in south Kashmir on Monday to commemorate the 23rd martyrdom anniversary of his father and party founder, Qazi Nisar Ahmad.

Qazi Nisar Ahmad, a popular religious and political leader was killed by unidentified gunmen at Dialgam village near Islamabad town on June 19, 1994.

Addressing a press conference at his residence in Islamabad town, Qazi Yasir paid tributes to his father and asked people in south Kashmir to observe shutdown on June 19.

Yasir said on June 16, eminent pro-freedom leaders across the party lines will address people at Jamia Masjid, Islamabad that will follow with a rally. Rallies will also be held across south Kashmir On June 19, there will be complete shutdown in south Kashmir and on 20th, a seminar will be held in Srinagar.

Calling NIA investigations as another form of war against Kashmiris, Qazi Yasir said that it was to create trust deficit among Kashmiris. “We will not let India be successful in creating a wedge between leadership and Kashmiris,” he said.

“There is policy of strengthening Hindutva even in Kashmir and the Yatras are being used for political and military purposes. We will not allow these yatras be used as excuse to bring more military forces and force Kashmiris live under jackboots,” he said.
