Srinagar, June 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the puppet authorities for again slapping draconian law, Public Safety Act, on the illegally detained Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activists.
The authorities have booked Tehreek-e-Hurriyet activists, Muhammad Saleem War, Ghulam Rasool Parrey, Abdul Majeed Lone, Farooq Ahmad Najar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Fayaz Ahmad Ganai and Meraj-ud-Din Naikoo one more time under the PSA.
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said that ailing Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Rustum Butt, was released after a prolonged detention of eleven months, however all other activists though bailed by court, were slapped with the PSA again and shifted to Kot Bhalwal and Kathua jails in Jammu.
“It is sheer injustice and illustrates the haughtiness of the authorities. Under this infamous law, cases against dozens of youth are filed and they are shifted to different jails in far-flung areas of Jammu,” the statement said. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat is the prime target for authorities and almost two hundred activists of the party are detained in different jails, it added.
The APHC denouncing the arrogance of the puppet administration said that as soon as these prisoners were bailed out, the authorities slap another PSA on them, thus prolong their detention period.
It maintained that the detainees are subjected to vengeance and despite sufficient accommodation in the jails of the Kashmir Valley they are shifted to the prisons in Jammu. The puppet authorities even ignore the ruling of Indian Supreme Court regarding prisoners wherein it had clearly directed to lodge the detainees in jails near their homes.
Reiterating its demand for release of all illegally detained Kashmiris before Eid-ul-Fitr, the APHC appealed to the international human rights organizations to use their influence to check lawlessness, violations of court orders and for release of detainees in the territory.
Meanwhile, the APHC spokesman, Ayaz Akbar, in a statement said that the Hurriyat Conference’s appeal for monetary donations to run the mission “Kashmir freedom struggle” had received overwhelming response. He said that the generous donations from the local people had exposed India’s National Investigations Agency and the propaganda unleashed by certain Indian media channels that Kashmiris were unable to generate expenses for running the freedom movement.
