Srinagar, June 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in Srinagar, today.

The police took Muhammad Yasin Malik into custody from the party office in Aabi Guzar area of Srinagar and lodged him at Kothi Bagh police station to prevent him from leading anti-India demonstrations. later, he was shifted to Srinagar Central Jail.

The puppet authorities have also placed Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Mukhtar Ahmed Waza under house arrest or in police stations to prevent them from leading the demonstrations.

The joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for peaceful demonstrations after Friday prayers, today, to protest against the brutalities of Indian troops in the territory particularly in Shopian where people were subjected to severe torture and vandalism after they celebrated Pakistan Cricket team’s win in England. The demonstrations are also aimed at protesting against the raids of Indian National Investigation Agency on the houses of Hurriyat leaders.

Meanwhile, the authorities have also suspended Internet services across the Kashmir Valley.
