Srinagar, June 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the President of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum (KTMF), Yasin Khan, along with two dozen traders during a protest march against the proposed implementation of Indian law, Goods and Services Tax (GST), in the territory.

Yasin Khan was leading a protest march towards the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar where a special session is underway to debate the GST implementation.

After holding an hour-long sit-in at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, the traders started a protest march towards the Secretariat. However, Indian policemen stopped the marchers in Budshah Chowk and arrested Yasin Khan and over two-dozen traders and lodged the at Kothi Bagh police station.

The traders’ body had called for a shutdown across the Valley today against the GST implementation in the territory, maintaining that it will erode the special status enjoyed by Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of Indian constitution.
