Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Ummat-e-Islami (UeI) has said that police used force to quell a rally of its Chairman Qazi Yasir in Islamabad town.

The UeI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that strict restrictions had been imposed to prevent Qazi Yasir from reaching Jamia Masjid who had gone into hiding, however, he succeeded in reaching the mosque where he addressed a mammoth gathering.

He said police resorted to heavy shelling inside the mosque where demonstrators had gathered. “When the rally led by Qazi Yasir reached near Lal Chowk, police fired pellets and teargas shells on the protesters due to which several civilians, including party members and Qazi Yasir, received injuries.
