Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other resistance leaders greeted Pakistani people and team for winning the Champions Trophy with a stunning defeat over India at Oval in London.

APHC Spokesman Ayaz Akbar quoting Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We also congratulate Pakistan nation at this moment of celebration.”

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his tweet said, “Fireworks all around, feel like an early Eid here. Better team took the day. Congratulations team Pakistan.” He also addressed hundreds of youth at his Nigeen residence on Pakistan victory.

Other Hurriyat leaders including Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Bilal Siddiqi, Fareeda Behanji, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Zamrooda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Duktaran-e-Millat and Muslim League and other leaders and parties also greeted Pakistan team for winning Champions Trophy with a stunning defeat over India at Oval in London. “We also congratulate Pakistan nation at this moment of celebration,” the statements said

It is worth mentioning here that with tons of fire crackers going up in smoke, people in occupied Kashmir celebrated the Pakistan win. Pakistan trounced India by a margin of 180 runs. Thousands of youth celebrated on streets in Srinagar, Baramulla, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Bandipora, Gandarbal and elsewhere in the occupied territory.Fire crackers started disrupting the eerie clam right at the start when India started losing its batting order. These went frantic after India failed to come up to chase the 338 runs challenge.

In Old Srinagar, hundreds of youth had assembled the premises outside Jamia Masjid and celebrated well before the Iftaar. They had prayers there amid slogans and fire crackers.

In the University of Kashmir hostels, the inmates came out and were seen singing and dancing. These did not exclude the girls hostels inmates. Douz Ha Marie Koutru Aaz Ha Aisie Waier – you were defeated today, it was your turn, they sang with bands on.

Mosques at many places hummed with pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. The Pakistan anthem was played at many places. In downtown Srinagar, youth fired crackers continuously. When Pakistan was close to defeating India, youth gathered at marketplaces across Kashmir blasting crackers one after the other. Youth took to streets at Nowhata, Rajouri Kadal, Hawal, Saraf Kadal, Habba Kadal and Nawab Bazaar and other areas of Downtown amid pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans and burst countless crackers. Indian troops fired pellets on youth in old city. Kaiser Ahmed, 25, was hit by pellets at Dalal Mohalla, Nawabazar. Another youth identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, who was traveling on a bike from Gole Market to Lal Chowk, to join celebrations was beaten by the troops to pulp.
