Islamabad, June 25 (KMS): The leaders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have strongly condemned the stepped up Indian state terrorism and arrest of Hurriyet leaders and common people by Indian police in occupied Kashmir.

The forum leaders at a meeting presided over by the Convener, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, in Islamabad said that India had turned occupied Kashmir into a killing field and a big prison. They said that Indian troops had killed at least a hundred people including students, injured hundreds and blinded dozens during the last five months in Kashmir.

The leaders denouncing house arrest and detention of Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik demanded immediate release of hundreds of illegally detained Hurriyet leaders, activists and students. They appealed to the world human rights bodies including the UN Human Rights Council to take cognizance of the use of brute force by Indian troops and police personnel against the innocent people of the occupied territory.

The forum leaders also hailed the efforts of the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, who is reportedly trying to bring India and Pakistan on a table of negotiations to resolve the Kashmir dispute. They appealed to the UN Chief to take steps towards early implementation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir to settle the lingering dispute.

The leaders also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Chairperson, Fareeda Bahenji, in Srinagar.

The meeting was attended among others by Manzoorul Haq Butt, Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Hassan Al-Bana, Mian Muzaffar and Tahir Kazmi.
