Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed on Saturday as a part of week-long protest calendar to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

Burhan Wani along with his two associates was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter on July 8, last year. Call for the strike has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the slapping of draconian law, Public Safety Act on the party District President Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather and his shifting to Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a message from Central Jail, Srinagar said, “We also condemn the nocturnal raids on the residences of JKLF leaders including Master Sheikh Muhammad Afzal of Trehgam, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Hazratbal, and Zahoor Ahmad Butt by the police and harassment of their families.” He termed these raids as clear sign of frustration of puppet rulers and their masters. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the so-called Legislative Assembly has adopted the resolution on the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the territory amid protests by the opposition.

The resolution was adopted by a voice vote after turbulent rounds of debates and heated arguments between the lawmakers in the special assembly session that lasted for four days. The resolution talks about safeguarding the special position of Jammu and Kashmir, but the opposition termed it vague. The Opposition urged the puppet regime to make its own GST law. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, APHC General Secretary and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has announced the posthumous title “Tamgha-e-Jurrat” for martyr Burhan Muzaffar Wani for his courage, steadfastness and immense contribution to the freedom movement of Kashmir. He also called for remembering the birthplace of Burhan Wani as Burhan Valley.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah made the announcement at a high-level meeting called at the party’s Sanat Nagar headquarters in Srinagar. He said that he would personally hand over the title on behalf of Kashmiri people to the family of Burhan Wani as soon as authorities release him from house detention. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Pellet Victims Association described the year 2016 as a year of bullet, pellet and shelling in which thousand were injured and more than 10 thousand were hit by pellets and hundreds lost their eyesight in one or both eyes.

The Association, while expressing solidarity with the victim families, said that still pellet victims were under treatment in and outside the territory for searching their eyesight and they are facing lot of financial and other problems. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint resistance leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have strongly condemned the repeated curfew and restrictions imposed in Srinagar by the authorities, on one pretext or the other.

The leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that punishing and harassing the resilient people of the territory had become a regular feature of the anti-Kashmir ruling regime. »

The exhibition of Kashmiri handicrafts, dresses and pieces of Kashmiri art was organised by Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) at the European Press Club in Brussels.

Islamabad, July 06 (KMS): The Foreign Office Spokesperson has strongly condemned the coercive pressure tactic by India as a concerted attempt to harass the Kashmiri leadership and subjugate the indigenous Kashmiri struggle to the oppressive Indian regime.
