Islamabad, July 13 (KMS): The Foreign Office Spokesman, Nafees Zakaria has said that Pakistan strongly condemns Indian troops’ ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC).

Nafees Zakaria was speaking during the weekly media briefing at the Foreign Office on Thursday. He said that India had continuously been violating the ceasefire agreement, adding that innocent Kashmiris, including children, had been targeted by Indian troops.

On July 10, five innocent people, including four women, were martyred in unprovoked firing of Indian troops along the LoC, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Nafees Zakaria said OIC Contact Group on Kashmir in its recent meeting has strongly condemned state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and called upon India to immediately stop the bloodshed in the territory.

The Groups called upon both India and the international community to implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir. Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were not allowed by Indian authorities in occupied Kashmir to participate in the 44th OIC session of Council of Foreign Ministers.

The OIC’s 56-member council of the Foreign Ministers during its 44th session in Abidjan recognized Kashmir as the core issue between India and Pakistan and underscored that its resolution was the key to ensuring lasting peace and security in the region. The Council rejected Indian attempts to equate Kashmiris’ indigenous movement for self-determination with terrorism.

“Today, on 13th July, Kashmiris are observing the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day to commemorate the unprecedented sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiris in 1931. We pay tributes to the martyrs and express solidarity with the Kashmiris in their struggle against Indian unlawful occupation of their territory,” Nafees Zakaria said.
