Srinagar July 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly and the President of Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), Engineer Rasheed conducted a march which started from Dastageer Sahab shrine and ended at Martyrs’ Graveyard Naqashband Sahab shrine in Srinagar.
The AIP in a statement n Srinagar said that residents of old Srinagar defied restrictions and joined the march. It said that led by Engineer Rasheed, the participants raising slogans, seeking plebiscite, pledged to fulfill the martyrs’ mission. Indian police closed the gates of the graveyard and didn’t allow the participants to enter, it added.
Addressing the participants, Engineer Rasheed lashed out at the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference working president, Omar Abdullah and said that they had no right to pay tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931.
He said that the mission of July 13 martyrs never was to make Kashmir part of India and their mission would only be achieved if Kashmiris were given their right to self-determination.
Engineer Rasheed reiterated that resistance leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik are the true custodians of sacrifices and those who claimed and believed Kashmir to be India’s integral part had no moral right to pay tributes to the martyrs. Castigating the authorities for detaining Hurriyet leaders, he asked the puppet regime to allow people peaceful political activities.
