Islamabad, Tral shut against killingsIndian soldier killed officer in Uri

Srinagar, July 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown is being observed in Islamabad and Tral areas against the killings of martyred youth.

Indian forces in a brief crackdown operation killed Showkat Lohar, Muzaffar Hajam and Nasir Ahmad in a fake encounter at Bulbul Nowgam in Achabal area of district, late night.

All shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed while as public transport is off the roads.

A complete shutdown was also observed in Tral area of Pulwama district to mourn the killing of three youth Mukhtar Ahmad, Pervaiz Ahmed Wani and Hassan Bhai who were killed by Indian troops on Saturday at Wantiwen Satura in Tral.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot at and critically injured one Nazir Ahmad Shah in Qazigund area.

On the other hand, an Indian army officer identified as Major Shikhar Thapa of 71 Armed Regiment presently posted with 8/ Rashtriya Rifles was killed by a fellow soldier in argument over use of mobile phone in Uri area of Baramulla district. It said that the major scolded the soldier after he was found using his mobile phone on duty.
