Srinagar, July 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, APHC General Secretary and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that India is hell bent upon suppressing the Kashmiris’ freedom movement through military might but is destined to fail in its designs.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who is under continued house arrest in Srinagar, said this while talking over phone to the family members of martyred youth, Tanveer Ahmed Wani. Tanveer was martyred when Indian Army personnel opened fire on protesters in the area on Friday.
Shabbir Shah said Kashmir is a political dispute that needs to be resolved politically. He paid tributes to all Kashmiri martyrs and said their sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste ad their mission would be accomplished at all costs.
On the instructions of Shabbir Ahmad Shah, a party delegation headed by Ghulam Muhammad Maqdam and comprising Abdul Rasheed and Muhammad Altaf visited the residence of Tanveer to express solidarity with his family.
On the other hand, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) of occupied Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the killing of Tanveer Ahmad Wani. It also denounced the death of a minor girl in an accident involving an Indian Army vehicle at Agular in Shopian and injuring of about 40 persons by Indian forces during protests against the incident.
It also ridiculed the statement of Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, in which he stated that “Kashmir is India” and “India is Kashmir” and that it is our “internal matter” and our “internal business” and no one should interfere in it. The statement reminded Rahul Gandhi that on November 4, 1947 Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wrote to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan, that “Indian government has no desire to impose our will on Kashmir, but to leave the final decision to its people and that we have agreed on impartial international agency like UN to supervise the referendum in Kashmir”.
