Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to protest against the arrest of Hurriyat leaders by Indian authorities.

Call for the shutdown was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to register protest against the revengeful, arbitrary and illegal arrest of Hurriyat leaders. All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the road.

The puppet authorities had imposed strict restrictions and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Srinagar to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the arrest of Hurriyat leaders. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have extended the judicial remand of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik till August 5, 2017.

Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested along with many others on Friday and he along with Mushtaq Ajmal and Ghulam Muhammad Dar were sent to Srinagar central jail on a judicial remand till July 25, 2017. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly denounced the arrest of pro-freedom leaders by Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The NIA arrested Hurriyat leaders including Altaf Ahmad Shah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar and Shahid-ul-Islam in Srinagar, yesterday, after implicating them in false cases. Later, they were taken to New Delhi. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) strongly denouncing the arrest of pro-freedom leaders by Indian National Investigation Agency has said that the action is aimed at terrorizing the Hurriyat leaders and activists.

HCBA in a statement in Srinagar said that the sole purpose of these arrests and proposed issuance of notice to Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik was to terrorize them and their activists and force them to give up their efforts for achieving the legitimate right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, leader of Mirwaiz-led Hurriyet forum, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has said that the Kashmir freedom movement is based on true aspirations of the people and hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris have nourished it with their blood.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited Dialgam, Wahihama and Arwani areas of Islamabad district and expressed solidarity with the family members of the youth martyred by Indian troops.

Addressing gatherings in these areas, he said that the Hurriyat leadership was determined to carry forward the mission of Kashmiri martyrs till it reached its logical conclusion. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have once again booked the illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

The 70-year-old leader has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu for the past four months under the PSA. »

Srinagar, July 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has said that denying permission to illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, to communicate with his wife and DeM Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, was the worst example of human rights violation and a clear act of political vengeance against the couple.

The DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar said that it was inhuman and tyrannical to disallow a husband to talk to her ailing wife. She said Dr Fakhtoo has been languishing in jail for more than past two decades and the imprisonment of Aasiya Andrabi has led to complete disconnection between them. »
