Srinagar July 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities did not allow congregational Friday prayers, today, at the Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid for the fourth consecutive week.

All gates of Jamia Masjid were locked by the Indian forces while all roads leading to the historic mosque were blocked with concertina wires.

Curfew was imposed in the area to prevent people from assembling at the mosque. »

New Delhi, July 14 (KMS): Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has revealed that nearly 50 percent of total 186 rights violations complaints have been received from occupied Kashmir over last four years.

In reply to a Right to Information (RTI) application by Common Wealth Human Right Initiative (CHRI), the Home Ministry’s data indicates that Jammu and Kashmir accounted for almost 50 percent of the human rights violations complaints in various categories under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). »

United Nations, July 14 (KMS): The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has reiterated the need for India and Pakistan to find a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute through engagement and dialogue, his spokesperson said.

Antonio Guterres’ spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric’s remarks came when he was asked if the Secretary General is paying attention to the situation in the region or “we are just waiting for some sort of big tragedy to occur for the Secretary General to take attention.” »

Srinagar, July 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama town, today, to protest against the use of brute force on protesters by Indian troops.

A youth was hit by a bullet after the troops of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) opened fire to disperse protesters in the town, yesterday.

Obaid Ahmad was hit in his left leg when the troops resorted to indiscriminate firing on the protesters. »

Srinagar, July 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have denounced the imposition of curfew and other restrictions by the puppet authorities to prevent a march towards Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar on Thursday.

Call for the march was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to pay tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 on their martyrdom anniversary. Indian police arrested Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday when they tried to lead the march towards Naqshband Sahib where these martyrs remain buried. Yasin Malik was already under illegal detention at Srinagar Central Jail. »

Srinagar July 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly and the President of Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), Engineer Rasheed conducted a march which started from Dastageer Sahab shrine and ended at Martyrs’ Graveyard Naqashband Sahab shrine in Srinagar.

The AIP in a statement n Srinagar said that residents of old Srinagar defied restrictions and joined the march. It said that led by Engineer Rasheed, the participants raising slogans, seeking plebiscite, pledged to fulfill the martyrs’ mission. Indian police closed the gates of the graveyard and didn’t allow the participants to enter, it added. »
