Srinagar, July 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, civil society and business community have said that the PDP-BJP regime is leaving no stone unturned to fulfill the agenda of extremist Hindu organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, in the territory.

The civil society members and business community unanimously called the extension of Collection of Statistics Amendment Bill-2017 by India as another nail in the coffin of Article 370 of Indian Constitution that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The Bill recently passed by the Indian Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament, will empower the government of India to directly collect data from occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat has said that India is using all cheap tactics to suppress the Kashmiri people and to continue its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

The DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the detention of Aatif Hasan, a 29-year-old resident of Islamabad, under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA) and the brutal attack on the family of Hizbul Mujahideen member, Tawseef Ahmad, at Rampora in Kulgam. »

Srinagar, July 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami, Nisar Hussain Rathar, has said that the people of Kashmir will continue to render sacrifices till settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with their aspirations and the UN resolutions.

Nisar Hussain Rathar visited Beerwah area of Badgam and expressed solidarity with the family of a youth, Tanveer Ahmad Wani, who was recently martyred in the firing of Indian Army on peaceful protesters. Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he paid glowing tributes to Tanveer Ahmed and said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. »

Srinagar, July 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of its leaders, Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Farooq Ahmed Saudagar and Muhammad Sidiq Hazar.

The ACC leaders were recently arrested and lodged in police lock-up when they were on way to Beerwah to express solidarity with the family members of a martyred youth, Tanvir Ahmed Wani. »

Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to protest against the suspension of life sentences of five Indian army personnel involved in Machhil fake encounter by a military court and persecution of pro-freedom leadership. »

Srinagar, July 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, peaceful demonstrations will be held, tomorrow, after Juma prayers to protest against the suspension of life sentences by a military court to five Indian soldiers who were involved in the cold-blooded murder of three innocent Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter in Machil area of Kupwara district in April 2010.

Call for the demonstrations has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The demonstrations are also aimed at registering protest against the persecution and arrest of pro-freedom leaders by Government of India through its agencies. »

New Delhi, July 27 (KMS): The Rajya Sabha (upper house of Indian Parliament), further eroding the Article 370, which accords a special status to Jammu and Kashmir, has passed amendments in the Collection of Statistics (Amendment) Bill, 2017, for applying it to occupied Kashmir.

The bill, empowering the Indian government to collect statistical data from occupied Kashmir, was passed by the Rajya Sabha even as various opposition parties said that the move was not proper in view of Article 370 of Indian Constitution that granted special status to the territory. »

Srinagar, July 27 (KMS): The Amnesty International has criticized the suspension of life sentences by a military court of five Indian troops involved in the cold-blooded murder of three innocent Kashmiri youth in Machil fake encounter in occupied Kashmir.

The Indian Army personnel had lured three youth, Shazad Ahmad Khan, Riyaz Ahmad Lone and Muhammad Shafi Lone to the higher reaches of Machil on the pretext of jobs and good money as porters and killed them in a staged encounter on 29th April 2010. The killing had triggered widespread demonstrations across the occupied territory. »

Islamabad, July 27 (KMS): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Nafees Zakaria has expressed concern over the increase in Indian brutality in occupied Kashmir.

In his weekly media briefing at the Foreign Office on Thursday, Nafees Zakaria said that there had been a rise in atrocities by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. He said that more than 18,000 Kashmiris were missing while Indian troops were using rape as a weapon to suppress the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom. »
